Daddy Wie: Casio Helps Michelle’s Long Iron Game
With the madness of the SamSung DQ behind her, Michelle is ready for the Casio Open. Daddy Wie explains some of the reasoning behind Michelle’s gender busting game.
“That’s why we like to play ladies’ and men’s tournaments,” BJ said, “because it is different types of training and preparation. Michelle wants to improve every part of her game. If she only plays short courses her wedge play might get better, but when she plays a really long course it’s a whole different approach.
“She will hit a lot of 5-irons into the green and woods on the tough par-4s, which could be 500 yards. When that par-4 becomes a par-5 on another tour, then you pretend you’re playing a par-4 and the result is birdie.”
The Golf Channel will cover the event via live feed from Japan (9:30 PM - 11:30 PM EST / 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM HST) with Japanese commentators speaking English… from Floria. Figure that out.
Golf channel producers also considered broadcasting in Engrish, quickly dropping the idea after I called them up and complained of “much displeasure in decided commentation of game.”
