The 16th Hole, One Day Later

Michelle Wie made three excellent plays to birdie the hole she double-bogeyed yesterday. Her play on the 16th put her at 3-under.

In today’s round it was the final hole of the day that kept her from advancing on the leaderboard where she ended her round shooting a 71. This puts her at 1-under for the tournament going into tomorrow’s final round.

Footnotes: Are there golf cliches players use? Michelle is getting better at handling interviewers and showed again that she is has a fine understanding of her game. Commentators are constantly amazed at the variety of techniques she uses in her swings.

Wie currently leads all amateurs at the U.S. Women’s Open.
